The students' strike

Education is maybe one of the most important things in the world. Societies cannot develop without an educated population. We know that the most developed countries have very good educational systems, so that education should be the primary concern of all country governments. Through educational systems we grow as individuals, we learn how the world works, we form a critical thinking, and realize the subject that we like.

Chile is a very unequal country and their education reflects this, we have an educational system inherited from a military dictatorship, where the economic interests of other countries influenced a lot in creating the system that we have today in the country. However In the last years the people have realized this, and they are demanding solutions.

I consider myself a person who has been educated in the context of the student movement, I studied in a municipal high school and in 2011 I was in second year, from that moment I began to educate myself about the national context. I was an active participant of the movement and even that I repeated that school year because of the long strike. However I do not regret about that. I think that they are necessary sacrifices for the collective progress.
Therefore I strongly support the student movement in Chile, however, the movement has lately deteriorated because the divisions in the people, I think that we must expand the movement to other sectors of the people, with the community workers, not only at the students or the universities. We need to make better links with secondary students too, only in this way we will get real changes. Also we need to change the forms of protest, the Shutdowns universities no longer serve much today, maybe it worked in previous years.
However, I really have hope in the people and the changes.

Isabel Allende, a brave woman..

Isabel Allende is a very brave woman. I did not know much about her. Now I understand a little more about of his thinking, and their influence to write. I am proud to know that she is Chilean, and it is contributing to equality through their books. I think that she was very brave to declare herself a feminist at the time of 60’ in Chile, because in that time this country was very patriarchal.

About of it is a Chile is a sexism country, I think this country are in process of development of the sex equality, although we have much to do about that. Chile is a very polarized country, because a part of the population have a lot culture of equality, and we see for example in families who rear their children in a "modern" way, with the same opportunities and equal treatment between boys and girls. Another examples are the relationships that men and women do the same things, like washing dishes, cleaning the bathroom or kitchen, or fix any home damage, and obviously they are treated equally each other. But there is another part of the population that still live like the 60´ in spite of being young, whit works divisions in where the woman do the home things and the men is supposedly the “breadwinner”. An examples of this are the families of this are the families that still very tied to strict religions. However I need to recognize that politically the country have progress on gender equality in the last time. With politics like “Zamudio Law” or with the incorporation of organizations like the “Movilh” in the state politics that looking for the gender equality treatment. However I really think that the country goes in the right way, but we need more development.

First month at the FAU

When I entered to architecture was very weird, because before i had been studying anthropology for a year, so the ambient change affected me. In anthropology I was on a only one big campus  in which were all schools,  but FAU is just one school, so I think it's quite small. Here we are very tight, and sometimes we need more classrooms. When i decided study architecture I knew that it would be very hard, but i never thought that it would be so hard. However I heard that it's just the first year. The first days of class were really very exciting,  I already wanted to draw and go visit places of santiago that I didn't know. So after a week  it happened and i was very happy for that. But obviously the work was not as simple as I mention.

In the first few weeks I have met very funny people. That's one of the things I liked in FAU, my classmates are very good people in comparation with my Antropology classmates. Unfortunately I missed the party of the first week of school, because I decided to visit the city and when I arrived to FAU they were closing the doors. Therefore for the next party I will try to arrive as early as I can. Studying in another city has been an totally enriching experience, but also very hard. I'm from Talca, where also are the career of architecture so obviously my parents wanted that I study there, in home.
However, I don't discard the possibility to change of university,  because here I have a lot of expenses on materials and here also I need to pay for an apartment and another survival things.
Anyways, I liked architecture, I wanted study this because I think that is a very holistic discipline and if ever i get bored, I can do another thing related with this discipline.

Mountain Holidays

This holiday was very weird. I made a lot of plans, mostly I wanted make autostop to go to travel to the north. I had been prepared for a long time to the adventure, I worked for have some money and I bought the necessary implements, but the friends that supposedly would go with me, told me at the last minute that they would not go. I thought go alone but i not felt prepared for that situation, so a I spent the money in other things, that sincerely I don't remember -may be in some parties-. But I did not give up, I made a second holiday plan. As I had bought a lot camping stuff, I decided to go to explore the mountains of the seventh region of the country -basically because I lived in that zone-. I knew some of them, but this time I wanted to venture more deeply in this mountains. This adventure excited to some of my friends, so we went for three days to the natural reserve of "Altos de Lircay". More precisely we went to "The Despalmado Waterfall" and "The Enladrillado".After that -in February- I went to ViƱa del Mar with my family, but honestly I got bored a lot. However, the most part of my vacaction I started organize me for the move to Santiago, so I had been looking some apartment to live and that kind of things. Therefore, since this moment I'm preparing myself for this next summer go to the South making autostop, not maybe, I will.

I always belived that a good architect, in fisrt place, needs to be a very holistic person. Whit this I mean that he should be interesting for all disciplines, from maths and fisic to art and history. I say that because the architecture is a very complemental discipline. In second place, I think that a good architect needs have a lot of observation skills for understand the spaces so in this way he can transform it. Then he must have
